Is it still worth it to buy a .COM domain?

2018-10-10

Godaddy has published an article about the most expensive sales of domain names that occurred by the past. insurance.com cost $35 million back in 2010.

In 2014, new generic TLDs have been available to the public. Today, we found that insurance.club cost 0,86 euros at Namecheap.

Google confirmed that new generic TLDs were treated like older ones. Consequently, there are no reasons why you should not buy a new generic TLD rather than a .COM when the registry company that operates the new generic TLD is located in the USA or in a friendly jurisdiction.

Still today, unscrupulous people would like to make money out of domain names. They bought keyword-rich or famous domain names and their offer is very expensive. Thanks to new generic TLDs it is not necessary to spend a lot of money to buy a .COM domain.

Now, that the interesting .com are all booked, people would need to choose longer domain names. However, people DON’t remember long domain names. I just found a domain name: http://inclusionaryleadershipgroup.com

Really? this type of domains make sense?
