Canonical and paginated page of category pages
First of all, let’s display the screenshot of the general settings to show you the URL of the wordpress installation.
Now, let’s take a look at how SEO framework manages the canonical, link prev and link next tags on a paginated category page of wordpress.
Here, we can see that when we query https://inadoo.com, we get the right canonical which was set up to http://inadoo.com. It means that the canonical tag works well here. If I type the HTTP or HTTPs version of the URL, it returns the same canonical
This is what we should always get. It seems obvious but we will see later why it is so important to mention it. The “link prev” and “link next” tags also refer to the site URL http://inadoo.com. They don’t refer to the browser field protocol, https://inado.com.
Now, let’s install Yoast. We didn’t find any settings related to the canonical URL. We displayed the same URL and here is what we get:
The Yoast SEO plugin does not return the right canonical URL. There should be only ONE canonical url because those two pages are identical. Here, we have two canonical URLs and two identical pages. To a bot, it could look like duplicates. The “link prev” and the “link next” of the HTML page from the first screenshot points to the https version of the website. This is not good. This should point to the http version of the website.

Now, we uninstalled yoast and installed all-in-one SEO plugin:
There is a major problem here. When we type the HTTPs version of the web page we get the https version of the canonical tag. However, the site URL is http://inadoo.com, not https://inadoo.com (see above screenshot of settings in
