What’s happen when 2 links point to the same URL – SEO

2018-10-19

What’s happen when one page has two links to the URL. I think that in the following video. If there are two different anchor texts it does not impact the flow of PageRank. According to the original Google algorithm, the PageRank would be divided by the number of outgoing links. But then, Matt Cutts talks about an extraction process of links. It looks like all the links aren’t taken into account. Meanwhile, there are other videos where Matt Cutts mentions that when there are several outgoing links on a page point to a different website, the importance of every link degrades as the number of links increases. In other words, quality linking is more important than quantity linking. Webmasters have noticed that 3 well-located links can send more link juice than sitewide links.

This means that it is advised to keep the number of links low but it does not mean that you should not link to other pages. For example, when we add links to related posts, I think that the best would be to link the posts to no more than 3 other posts.
